Fiscal Responsibility and Spending Dollars as a Reflection of Our Values as a City
Fiscal responsibility and investing in Lake Oswego’s social vitality must be mutually exclusive. If elected, I will eliminate excess spending and champion investments that enhance the quality of life for all and reflect our values as a city.
Develop Points of Entry for Small/Women/Diverse Business Owners
For far too long, a cookie-cutter approach has left underrepresented business owners in Lake Oswego on the outside looking in. I will work with City leadership and the LO Chamber of Commerce to develop points of entry for small/women/minority business owners that support their long-term ability to thrive.
Neighborhood Continuity, Urban Forest Management & The Stafford Hamlet
We must make a commitment to protecting and maintaining the continuity of our neighborhoods, managing our urban forest, and surrounding farmland as central to all policy directives. We are a City of trees and gorgeous parks we need to ensure it stays that way.
Access to Housing
People who work in Lake Oswego, should be able to also live in Lake Oswego. We need to diversify the housing options and prioritize workforce housing investments within the City through collaborative regional partnerships and developer partnerships. Housing is a human right. I will fight to make sure all in Lake Oswego have access to the shelter they need.
Lack of access to public transportation is a barrier to participation for too many in our community and that is unacceptable. I will fight to make sure all can move safely and efficiently throughout the city. I will work hard to find solutions and innovative services like ride sharing and intracity transit to make our City less vehicle dependent.
Climate Change & Sustainability
There is no reason Lake Oswego can’t be a statewide leader in climate change reform. Utilizing City and school district collaboration, I will champion the bold climate reform that will allow our children and grandchildren to enjoy all this town has to offer.
Labor & Economic Development Protecting Union workforces
We succeed as a city when we work together, and thus, sustainable labor and economic development, and protecting workers must go hand in hand. I will fight for union workforces as well as the creation of long overdue community, police, and fire department oversight boards.
Vitality for All
Being a City Councilor is a privilege and should be treated as such. I want to be your champion, your servant leader, and work to ensure that our elected leadership is a reflection of the very best our City has to offer. Ensuring Vitality for ALL is not a catch phrase, it’s how I live my life and I hope you will allow me to be of service to your family, neighbors, friends, and our community. Love and Service are verbs and we need so much more of that!
